From: Board of Directors - Holt County Humane Society

The Holt County Humane Society wishes to thank all those who have been such loyal and wonderful supporters these
past 4 years including all of our members and volunteers. Due to circumstances beyond our control, we have recently
lost our lease. For that reason, we have decided to continue doing business through foster homes. Dogs placed in foster
homes tend to be more content and better socialized than those housed in a large facility with many other dogs. Also,
this type of operation requires fewer volunteers than we have needed in the past. There have been times when the
number of dogs that we had at our facility far out numbered the capabilities of the small number of volunteers who
were trying so desperately to care for them and give them the love and attention they deserved. Unfortunately, we will
not be able to care for the large number of dogs that we have had in the past. Under the current circumstances, we
need to find foster homes for the dogs we have up for adoption now.

In addition, we will not be boarding dogs any longer and but if you need to board your pet, give us a call and we will
be happy to recommend someone.

When we can afford a different facility, and a small paid staff, we will again be able to care for a greater number of
dogs and cats too. If you are interested in helping us in any way, either by fostering a dog, adopting a dog, or simply
want to make a donation to help us through this time of reorganization, please call our voice mail at 402-482-5440 or
email us at holthumane@gmail.com. Our new address is P.O. Box 563, O'Neill, NE 68763. The Holt County Humane
Society is a total volunteer organization and has no paid staff. It is a private nonprofit corporation dependent on
contributions, which means it receives no tax funding. As such, we all work full time jobs and have animals ourselves to
care for. Your calls are very important to us so we will call you back as soon as we can.

It is our most sincere hope that we find homes for all the dogs that come to the society and want you to know how
important this community is to the success of our organization. The past 4 years have shown us what a kind and
generous place we live in. Through your support, we have found forever homes for over 300 dogs in 8 states which
would have otherwise been doomed to a life of starvation, suffering, or abuse. We are in your gratitude and hope to
continue for many years to come.
